Causes and Solutions for Brittle Seals During Bag-making
A bag-making machine is a machine that produces various plastic packaging bags or bags made of other materials. It processes bags of different sizes, thicknesses and specifications, with plastic packaging bags as the main product.
What causes brittle seals during bag-making? Let’s explain them below:
- Excessively high heat-sealing temperature.
- Excessively high pressure.
- Excessively long heat-sealing time.
- Sharp edge of the upper sealing bar or damaged Teflon coating.
- The silicone rubber for bottom sealing is too hard.
- During the composite curing process, part of the adhesive penetrates into the film, reducing the toughness (impact resistance) of the base material and increasing brittleness.
- After cooling and storage, the heat-sealing strength of plastic composite bags increases, but they also tend to become brittle.
Solutions:
- Select appropriate processing temperature, pressure and heat-sealing time based on the heat-sealing properties of the inner sealing layer material.
- Improve the surface condition of the upper heat-sealing knife to keep the surface smooth.
- Cover it properly with Teflon cloth.
- Choose a silicone rubber pad with suitable hardness.
